This is a property of 175 acres in the south of Costa Rica,
with one mile of frontage on the paved highway, with an elevation
at the entrance of 300 feet, with one quarter mile beach-front
to the Golfo Dulce near the Corcovado National Park. The farm
goes down from the road to the beach in a soft slope about
three quarters of a mile. The ocean in this part of the gulf
is lake like with no waves, completely protected from the
winds, and deep enough for all kinds of big ships. It is
actually a fiord instead of a gulf, and because of that, just
50 yards away from the beach it has already a depth of 50
yards going down to 200 yards in many places. The area is used by whales and dolphins as a nursery and as a training
place for their new-borns before taking them to the open ocean,
having had no problems with the ships coming in and out of
Puerto Golfito that was until a few years ago the main port
for the banana exports. Now, without the banana production
in the Pacific Coast, the number of ships has been greatly
reduced. The place can be used for a “marina” as well as for
any kind of water sport (except surfing), with no dammage
to the ecosystem. The place is the best in the area for a
Beach Hotel or any similar kind of development. There are
three springs that can provide enough pure water for all needs.
The remaining 30 acres of forest are good for hiking, bird
watching and more, and the game fishing are among the best
in the country. The view from all parts of the place is outstanding.
This is one of the very few properties in this beautiful area
that has a valid public title and all the rights for beach
use.
P.
S. Now that the Panama Canal is no longer under the United
States control, many Americans living there are looking for
a better and more peaceful place. This gives the possibility
of a marina a very good chance.
